Content Warnings
General Warnings
The Scream films feature gratuitous violence, murder, blood, and gore. Sam comes with content warnings for past substance abuse and mental illness (psychosis and trauma).
Psychosis
Sam experiences audiovisual hallucinations and is diagnosed with psychosis and prescribed antipsychotic medication*. These hallucinations are not an accurate portrayal of real-life psychosis; they are a storytelling device that function however necessary to advance the plot, up to and including a hallucination guiding Sam to a hidden weapon during a struggle.
*In Rubilykskoye, Sam has no access to antipsychotics and considers herself to be "off her meds." This will factor into Sam's own perception of her mental stability but will not significantly affect her actual state, as canon implies her hallucinations are brought on by outside stressors regardless of being medicated.

Her scars are typically covered by clothes but those on her arm and shoulder may be exposed during warmer months when she wears shorter sleeves or sleeveless tops.
Dress
Sam's style is functional: a fitted top, trousers, lace-up boots. She prefers clothes that she can maneuver and run in. She goes for muted, solid colors, nothing too vibrant, no florals or busy patterns. Never wears skirts or dresses with the exception of rare special occasions. Visual references.
Formative Events
Uncovering the Family Secret
When Sam was thirteen years old, she learned that the man raising her was not her biological father. Her mother's teenage diary revealed that Sam was fathered by infamous serial killer Billy Loomis, with whom her mom had a high school affair. The man she had grown up calling dad overheard when Sam confronted her mother and walked out on the family. Sam's mother swore her to secrecy, especially from her younger sister, Tara. From then on, the dark secret of her parentage was Sam's to keep and privately contend with.
Leaving Home
Sam spiraled out during her mid-teens, abusing drugs and getting into trouble with the law. A copycat killer emulated the crimes of Billy Loomis during Sam's freshman year of high school, exacerbating internal conflict over the bloody legacy she inherited. Sam left home as soon as she turned eighteen, driven into isolation by heavy guilt for being the cause of Mr. Carpenter's abandonment and self-loathing over her fears of turning out just like Billy Loomis. This fractured her relationship with Tara.
Return to Woodsboro
Five years later, Sam was much improved: she was supporting herself in Modesto, in a serious relationship with Richie Kirsch, and combating dark visions of Billy Loomis with prescribed antipsychotic medication. Cue another round of copycat killings, this time targeting Tara, who narrowly survived. Eventually, the perpetrators were revealed to be Richie and Amber, Tara's best friend. The two had bonded over their love of the Stab film franchise, which chronicled the crimes of Billy Loomis and his many copycats but had suffered creatively in recent years. They planned to frame Sam for their murder spree and inspire a sequel with the daughter of the original killer as its villain. Sam and Tara fought back, with Sam gaining the upper hand on Richie and stabbing him in self-defense, then Tara getting hold of a gun and shooting Amber dead. These events brought Sam and Tara much closer together but gave Sam intense trust issues with anyone outside of her small circle. She would also have to face her own actions, later telling her therapist that the reason she sought professional help was because killing Richie had "felt right."
New York City
Tara applied to college out of state and Sam followed her to New York, where they enjoyed relative peace for a short while. The next round of copycat murders started in the days preceding Halloween. There were three killers this time around: Richie's father and two younger siblings. Sam and Tara killed one sibling each in clear self-defense. When the time came to take out Richie's father, he no longer posed an immediate threat and Sam considered sparing his life to prove the point that she was better than Billy Loomis. It was Tara's look of permission that motivated Sam to fatally stab him because, after all, he had "fucked with [their] family." Sam's growth arc during these events involved learning to accept help from those close to her (she had originally proposed sacrificing herself to the killers to keep others safe) and accepting that Tara could take care of herself (she had become somewhat overbearing in her efforts to keep her sister safe).
Abilities & Skills
Abilities
Sam is a baseline human with no superhuman abilities.
Skills
Sam is skilled at wielding weapons without hesitation. In Scream (2022) she successfully defends her life using knives and a gun. While not addressed on screen, her shooting accuracy is significantly improved in Scream VI (2023), an upgrade in skill that implies she has visited the gun range between films. Her body undergoes a visible transformation in that same time period: in Scream VI (2023) Sam appears more toned, with new muscular definition particularly noticeable in her arms, suggesting a focus on strength training. She is very resourceful, thinks fast on her feet especially in life-or-death situations, and knows a lot about proper care for puncture wounds.
Monster
Appearance
Sam's monster form looks like her in the nude, covered in blood, seven feet tall with demonic features. It is unclear if her skin is red or if that's all the blood; she is perpetually soaked with it, dripping crimson wherever she goes. (IMG REF #1 — NSFW) Hands extend into long, straight claws narrowing into sharp points, similar in shape to XXL stiletto nails. The irises and sclera of her eyes are completely black. (IMG REF #2) Two red horns resembling the structure of bones protrude from the top of her forehead. (IMG REF #3) She has large, bat-like wings topped with thick, sharp talons. (IMG REF #4 — NSFW)
Powers
FLIGHT — In demon form, Sam is able to fly through the use of wings, "raining" blood over land below her.
Behavior
Maintains Sam's intelligence, memories, and personality absent any inhibitions, empathy, or moral hangups. Hungers for violence above all. Craves the kill and enjoys getting creative with it, often using wing talons and claws to puncture prey. Delights in spilling as much blood as possible, just as likely to target major arteries for mess as to build up with smaller wounds. Notably, does not kill to eat or seem driven by physical hunger; just a serial killer in it for the thrill of the game.
Transformations
Sam has not undergone monstrous transformation yet.

Fourth-Wall
Yes, the Scream movies are very meta and there is an in-universe franchise based on canon events, so the fourth wall is already paper thin.
